Preface
This FAQ covers the questions customers ask most often during the custom mold process for precision 3C electronic parts. It includes quotation, lead time, customization, quality control, after-sales service, and technical support, helping customers quickly understand the full custom mold process.
1. About Quotation and Pricing
Q1: What factors affect the quotation of custom molds?
The mold quotation is mainly based on product structure complexity, precision requirements, mold material selection, mold life requirements, processing difficulty, and order quantity.
High-precision molds, complex structures, and molds made with special materials usually cost more. Bulk custom orders may qualify for better pricing based on volume.
Q2: How long does it take to provide a formal mold quotation?
After receiving the customer’s 2D or 3D drawings, product parameters, and customization requirements, the technical team usually completes the feasibility evaluation and cost calculation within 1 to 3 working days and then provides a formal quotation.
2. About Customization and Design
Q3: Can you customize molds for non-standard 3C parts?
Yes. We focus on precision custom molds for 3C consumer electronics and can provide customized solutions for non-standard structural parts, special-shaped parts, and functional components.
This can include structural optimization, material matching, and process design based on the specific project.
Q4: Do you provide mold design optimization services?
Yes. We provide free mold feasibility evaluation and design optimization in the early stage.
Our engineering team uses CAE simulation and 3D modeling to optimize mold structure, reduce processing difficulty, and lower the risk of rework later in the project.
3. About Delivery Time
Q5: What is the normal delivery time for custom molds?
For regular precision 3C molds, the lead time is usually 15 to 25 working days. For more complex high-precision molds, the lead time is typically 25 to 35 working days.
We can also provide expedited service. With digital and modular optimization, the lead time can be shortened by around 30% in some projects.
Q6: Will the delivery time be delayed if design changes are needed?
Small design adjustments usually do not cause major delays. However, significant structural changes may extend the lead time.
We will confirm the impact of the changes with the customer in advance and adjust the delivery schedule accordingly to keep communication clear and transparent.
4. About Quality and Testing
Q7: What quality assurance and testing steps are included for custom molds?
We carry out full-process quality control, including material inspection, precision machining inspection, virtual mold testing, physical trial mold testing, durability testing, and precision calibration.
The first trial mold pass rate is over 98%, and we provide a complete quality inspection report.
Q8: What is the service life of a custom mold?
Mold life depends on the selected material and the actual working conditions.
Regular 3C molds can usually reach 500,000 to 1,000,000 shots. High-strength custom molds can exceed 2 million shots. The expected mold life standard will be clearly stated in the contract.
5. About After-Sales Service and Technical Support
Q9: What after-sales services do you provide for custom molds?
We provide free warranty service for mold quality issues, including repair, maintenance, and replacement of related parts.
We also offer long-term technical guidance, on-site debugging support, and mold maintenance consultation.
Q10: How do you handle mold failures during use?
Customers can contact our after-sales team directly. We will respond within 2 hours and first provide a remote solution whenever possible.
If on-site service is needed, we can arrange technical support within 24 to 48 hours to solve the issue as quickly as possible.
